I used to worry that if I loved and accepted myself now, or allowed myself to actually enjoy my favorite foods, it would mean, 'I let myself go'...
But even if I did accept myself or give myself permission to eat what I wanted, I wasn't really present.
My mind would be a million miles away.. Thinking about what I was going to do to ‘burn off’ the cake I just ate. OR I would say "f*ck it", and decide to eat the whole cake so could start over tomorrow.
Only after years of healing, I have come to the conclusion that you can’t hate or shame yourself into a version that you’ll ‘hopefully, one day’ love
And trust me when I say that- self-loathing and using exercise as punishment for what you ate, is NOT the path to achieving your health goals.
By focusing on making small, sustainable changes, you’ll realize being healthy doesn’t have to be difficult or obsessive.

Hey, I’m your Coach Kelsey!
Only a couple of years ago I was in your shoes. Food was my enemy and I was obsessed with how I looked and what I was going to eat all day, everyday. I was spiraling out of control.
Even though I was a successful personal trainer I never felt like I looked the part enough to be taken seriously in the fitness industry. Plus, I was always comparing my body to my friends’ bodies and food took up all my headspace.
It wasn’t until December 2019 that I couldn’t take it anymore! My binge eating episodes and purging were happening almost daily.
Thank goodness I had a childhood friend that worked as a registered dietitian. I felt like she could maybe help me make sense of what was going on.
Things started to change when she introduced me to Intuitive Eating. I started to see food in a new light, and recognized diet culture for what it truly is. While it helped me for the first time in my life, to change my primary goal from wanting to change the way my body looked, to wanting to heal my relationship with food, there was still a missing piece to the puzzle.
It wasn’t until I was introduced to neuroplasticity and our ability to literally rewire our brains, that everything just clicked. I eventually stopped dieting and focused on building one sustainable habit after another. I stopped being so extreme and actually started to show up for myself on a consistent basis. I began to feel healthier. I developed a new sense of appreciation for my body. I learned how to regulate and feel my emotions instead of eating them.
My healing journey has allowed me to become the person I always wanted to be.
I am able to be more present with the people who matter most.

I understand why you’re asking this question, my love. I used to think that if I had the right workout, I could sort my eating habits out later, but that simply is not the case. If anything- it actually does more harm than good.
